At Cibola High School we recognize and value the importance of extra-curricular activities. We encourage our students to get and stay involved in areas of interest that include sports, band, choir, spirit squad, and other activities that keep them active and participating. These activities allow students to develop talents, gain confidence, and learn lifelong skills. To learn more about our athletic schedules for the year, please see the link to the right. To learn about the clubs and organizations we offer, check out the Clubs page.

Eligibility Standards

We will use marking period grades to determine eligibility. If we determine students to be academically ineligible at the end of a grading period, they shall remain ineligible until the requirements of eligibility are met. The minimum ineligibility period is one full calendar week while school is in session (Monday through Sunday). Following the one week of ineligibility, we will check ineligible students weekly for academic progress and they shall become eligible the following Monday upon passing all classes. We strongly encourage students who are ineligible to attend academic support programs.

Athletic Clearance

You can present your birth certificate, proof of insurance, and CHS physical packet with your parent signature(s) to the Athletic Office Secretary to obtain a Clearance Card. You must obtain a Clearance Card for each sport. Be sure that you give your Clearance Card to your coach; you cannot participate without one.

  • Insurance: A student must purchase school insurance or provide a copy of his/her current insurance card. You can obtain school insurance forms in the Athletic Office.
  • Physical Exam: A student must have a physical exam from a U.S. doctor on an approved AIA physical form, available in the Athletic Office, between May 1 and the start of his or her chosen sport.
